It has been very busy here in Juneau with all the nice weather we are having.
We have been back for a few weeks from a trip visiting family in the Northwest. Here are those pictures
I have also updated the Juneau 2010 album with pictures from a whale watching trip and of course lots of new pictures of Anna.
Anna is doing great and growing like a weed. She is very mobile and has an independent streak going where she does not want mom or dad to help her with anything. She can do it herself!
Weather has been very nice (over 70 degrees for at least 5 days straight). It has been keeping us busy around the house with projects like replacing the front porch (pretty much just had to replace the planking and a post), various maintenance projects, and of course the yearly cleaning out of the garage and shed.
I just updated the photo album with lots of pictures. Enjoy!!

Time is flying and Anna is growing fast. I cannot believe she will be a year old in about two weeks. She is doing great and she started taking steps Superbowl Sunday and is currently walking pretty good and getting into just about anything she can reach.
She does have a few words in her vocab like mama, dada, hot, at (for cat), and a few that sound like outside and diaper. She does know a few signs: eat, milk, please, more, thank you, water, bath, and grandpa/ma’s girl. It is amazing how much she understands what we are saying even though she cannot talk very well just yet. We can tell her its time for a bath or bed and she will got to the right room or we can ask her to find her bear and she will go searching for it until she finds it.
I have posted a few pictures from the last few months in both the 11 month and the 12 month galleries (here a few of them).

Found this posted at a local coffee shop here in Juneau and thought a few of you would get a kick out of it.

Things been busy here in Juneau with work and such. Spring is slowly coming and I have been itching to get outside to work on projects around the yard.
Anna has been walking for a few weeks but still prefers crawling to get around to get into things as she can get there faster. Her first birthday is quickly approaching and she is really enjoying the new chair Uncle Russ and Aunt Annette sent her. Also, if you have not noticed I posted new pictures a few weeks back. Enjoy!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Anna is 7 1/2 months old now. At her last doctor’s appointment on October 14, she weighed in at 16 pounds, 4 ounces and was 26 inches long. She can get to a sitting position from her belly and is trying hard to pull herself up to a standing position. She isn’t crawling yet, but should be any day now – we’ve been saying that for the last 3 weeks. However, she does manage to get around the room.
Anna started daycare on November 18 and she is doing well there. She enjoys playing with the other babies and all the different toys. Her caregivers are always saying how happy she is. On Wednesday the local newspaper ran a story on the new daycare facility. Anna’s picture made it to the front page – “above the fold”! Click here for the story.
Wow…I guess I never posted this one as it was still sitting in my draft folder.
Ruth, Anna, and myself had a wonderful trip visiting family. We went to Missouri, where we finally got to meet all the new babies (Lizzie, Mason, John & Alix).
Ruth and Anna visited family and friends in Washington while I was in Arkansas with most of my brothers (cough, Russ, cough) on the annual AGFT.
Anna had a great time playing with her cousins, meeting her aunts & uncles, and getting spoiled by grandmas and grandpas.

I finally got around to getting the Florida pictures off my phone. The quality is not great but some of them turned out alright.
I just got back from an 8 day work trip on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska. I was updating workstations as well as giving classes in Kenai, Homer, and Seward. Here are a few pictures from that trip. You may wonder why I have pictures of the church in Moose Pass. Ruth’s Grandpa started that church and I took a few pictures to pass on to the family.
Ruth and Anna are doing great. Anna is beginning to talk a lot. A few new pictures were added to her album. Anna will be 4 months tomorrow and she is keeping us busy.
I have added pictures to the Juneau 2009 and Anna’s 3rd and 4th month albums.
Wow how time flies…Anna is now a little over 3 months old and she is enjoying playing, sleeping, eating and of course dirtying diapers. She really wants attention and is all about playing and discovering new things.
Recently we had a visitor in our backyard. He was up in the tree for over an hour. No idea where mamma bear was but he sure was having a good snack consisting of tree branches. Ruth and Anna stayed inside while I got closer to get a picture or two.
Mom has been visiting for almost two weeks now and she is sure loving the time she is spending with Anna. They have been going for lots of walks together and of course lots of holding and reading books. Anna is having a blast with grandma!
Last weekend Anna went for her first boat ride and saw lots of whales.
Anna is growing up so fast. She is almost 12 weeks old now. At her two month checkup on June 15, she weighed 11 pounds 13 ounces and was 22 and 3/4 inches long. She is smiling all the time now, laughing out loud, holding onto toys put into her hands, and she has just started reaching for things on her own!
We have added some new pictures here.
